Order of Operations

Mathematicians have developed the convention that when multiplication
occurs with addition and/or subtraction, the multiplication should be
performed first. This rule is called Order of Operations.

    1) P: Parenthese
2) E: Exponents [powers and square roots]
3) MD:  Multiplication and Division [left to right]
4) AS:  Addition and Subtraction [left to right]
